FAQs

Do cotton sheets trap heat?

Absolutely not. Pizuna cotton linens are engineered to stay cool, airy, and sumptuously comfortable. Crafted from the finest long-fibre cotton with limited processing, they preserve the material's inherent cooling characteristics. Our signature Fine Yarn Method, paired with Single Dent Construction, encourages airflow and draws away perspiration, guaranteeing a naturally refreshing sleep setting evening after evening.

Why Pizuna’s Cotton Sheets Feel Smooth and Silky

Pizuna bedding distinguishes itself through superior materials and meticulous workmanship. Several factors contribute to the remarkably smooth texture of our linens:

a. Finest Indian Long-Fibre Cotton We utilize premium Indian Long Fibre Cotton, recognized for its extended fibres. This produces a naturally plush and silkier feel.

b. Minimal Processing By limiting artificial treatments, the cotton maintains its inherent strength and resilience. The linens soften beautifully with each wash whilst retaining enduring durability.

c. Fine Yarn Method We employ finer, stronger single-ply yarns that create a lighter material with an elegant fall and subtle bounce.

d. Single Dent Construction Threads are uniformly spaced to establish a balanced texture that feels crisp yet silky.

e. Sateen Weave Finish The combination of fine yarns, precise construction, and a sateen finish produces a smooth, lustrous surface that elevates both touch and appearance.

Can a cotton pillowcase reduce hair fall?

Indeed. Pizuna cotton pillowcases are naturally anti-static, which helps diminish stress on the hair and thereby minimises hair fall. Our Single Dent Sateen construction further reduces friction between the material and your hair, limiting breakage, split ends, and dryness. The smooth sateen surface also helps hair preserve natural moisture, preventing damage. Additionally, the breathable cotton moderates temperature to promote restful slumber, and improved sleep is proven to reduce stress, a common contributor to hair loss.

What is the difference between sateen and percale weave?

Sateen: Constructed with a 4 up / 1 down type of weaving structure. Pizuna's single dent sateen construction provides a silky-smooth texture and subtle sheen. This luxurious material is ideal for those who appreciate a plush, lustrous finish and the enveloping comfort of bedding that drapes closely around them.

Percale: Fashioned with a classic 1 up and 1 down structure, our single dent percale construction produces a crisp, breathable material with a matte finish. It offers a cooler, more airy sensation—perfect for those who prefer a fresh, lightweight sleep experience with a touch of understated luxury.

What is the material used in your products?

All Pizuna items are crafted from 100% long-staple cotton, valued for its breathability, natural cooling characteristics, lasting durability, and refined softness.

What is the difference between housewife pillowcases and oxford pillowcases?

Pizuna Linens Oxford pillowcases feature an Oxford frame, a stitched border around the edges that gives a modern and sleek look. Housewife pillowcases, on the other hand, are simple with no border, offering a perfect finish. Both are crafted from 100% long-staple combed cotton, ensuring softness, durability and comfort. They both are useful in their own way.

How often should I wash my sheets?

For the optimal sleep experience, we recommend washing your linens once weekly. Regular laundering keeps them fresh, plush, and inviting.

How long does shipping take?

In most of the 18 countries where Pizuna operates, we utilize the Amazon Fulfilment Network, one of the most reliable and efficient delivery systems worldwide. Depending on your location, delivery times may range from same-day service to up to seven days.

Do you offer international shipping?

Yes. Whilst international shipping is not offered from all markets, Pizuna items are available locally in several countries through trusted fulfilment partners. These include the UK, Germany, USA, France, Italy, Japan, UAE, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, South Africa, Australia, India, Singapore, Sweden, the Netherlands, Poland, Saudi Arabia, and more.

How should I wash my sheets?

To preserve the quality and longevity of your Pizuna linens:

  • Wash in warm water
  • Use a gentle detergent
  • Avoid bleach
  • Tumble dry on a low heat setting
How can I reduce wrinkles?

To keep your linens looking smooth and elegant:

  • Avoid over-drying; remove them whilst slightly damp (using Iron Dry or Cupboard Dry settings)
  • Take them out of the dryer promptly to prevent creasing
  • Fold immediately, smoothing by hand as you go
  • If needed, iron on a low heat setting for a crisp finish
Can I use fabric softener on your products?

Whilst fabric softeners can make linens feel instantly softer, they also reduce absorbency over time. You may use them if you prefer that finish, but we recommend adding the softener to the water rather than applying it directly to the material.

What are pillow shams?

Pillow shams are decorative covers designed to be placed over bed pillows to beautify the appearance of your bedding. Unlike standard pillowcases, they often feature design elements such as a flange (also known as wings, a frame, volant, or Oxford style) that provide a refined, tailored appearance. Pizuna pillow shams are crafted from our signature long-fibre cotton, beautifully made yet plush enough to sleep on if you wish.

What is thread count, and why it is important?

Thread count refers to the number of threads woven into one square inch of material. At Pizuna, we achieve an optimal balance of softness, durability, and breathability by using only high-quality long-fibre cotton, rather than relying on inflated thread counts. Our collections include a range of options: from the 300 Damask Range and 400 solids and prints, to premium 600, 800, and 1000 thread count linens, so you can select the level of smoothness and weight that suits your personal comfort preference.

What is the difference between cotton, microfiber and other materials?

Cotton: Naturally breathable, cooling, plush, and durable. Environmentally friendly and biodegradable, it offers comfort that improves with age.

Microfibre: A synthetic polyester-based material. Warmer and less breathable, it is not biodegradable and lacks the natural luxury of cotton.

Other materials: Options such as silk, linen, and bamboo each carry unique qualities: silk for indulgent smoothness, linen for a crisp, airy feel, and bamboo for its plush, eco-conscious properties.

Are your products hypoallergenic?

Yes. Pure cotton is naturally hypoallergenic as it is anti-static and does not attract dust. Pizuna's premium cotton bedding is tightly constructed to help minimise exposure to dust mites and allergens. Many of our items also carry OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certification, ensuring they are free from harmful substances.

For best results, we recommend washing your bedding regularly at a warm temperature, which keeps it fresh, clean, and allergen-free.

How do I measure my mattress to ensure a proper fit?

To guarantee the right fit, measure the length, width, and depth of your mattress. Pizuna fitted sheets are carefully tailored to fit snugly and securely, ensuring maximum comfort throughout the night.

As sizing names vary across countries, we always recommend checking the actual measurements of the sheet before purchase, rather than relying solely on naming conventions.

What is the difference between a flat sheet and a fitted sheet?

Flat sheet: A large, rectangular sheet that lies over the mattress. Pizuna's premium flat sheets add beauty and versatility: they can be used as a light summer blanket, as a breathable layer under duvets or blankets in winter, or even as a bottom sheet for non-standard bed sizes (though they need to be tucked in manually).

Fitted sheet: Designed with elasticated edges, fitted sheets stay firmly in place around the mattress. Pizuna fitted sheets are crafted with 360° all-round elastic and precision stitching to ensure a secure fit that doesn't slip off during the night. They are intentionally cut slightly oversized to meet customer expectations of fit and ease.

What are the different types of bedding?

Fitted sheets: Designed with 360° elastic to stay snugly over the mattress.

Flat sheets: Versatile oversized rectangles that can serve as an additional layer, summer blanket, or bottom sheet.

Pillowcases: Elegantly styled cotton cases that are breathable and moisture-wicking, keeping sleepers cool and comfortable.

Duvet covers: Available in a wide variety of colours, they envelope the duvet for both protection and enhanced breathability, extending its life whilst adding sophistication to the bed.

Bedding sets: Thoughtfully curated combinations such as duvet cover sets (duvet covers with pillowcases) or bed sheet sets (fitted sheets with flat sheets and pillowcases, depending on regional preference).

Which fabric is best for you?

  • Best for hot sleepers: Long-fibre cotton, linen, bamboo, Tencel
  • Best for cold sleepers: Wool
  • Best for luxury feel: Silk or high-thread-count cotton
Are your products machine washable?

Pizuna’s products use the reactive dyeing process which enhances colour penetration to increase the longevity of the fabric. This enables them to be machine washable at 60°C / 140°F and tumble dry low.

Washing at this temperature is also highly beneficial for consumers, as it kills all germs which may have generated during sleep.

Should I zip up my bedding before washing?

Yes. Always close the zips before placing your bedding in the wash. This prevents strain on the zips, reduces the risk of breakage, and helps maintain the longevity of your linens.
